# Troubleshooting

> Resolve missing answers, widget display issues, and login problems

## Tests return sample responses

Add a Claude API key under Settings → API keys. Sample responses shown before a key is added do not retrieve your website's content. After adding a key, test in a new conversation.

## The bot cannot answer website questions

Check that [Source URLs](/en/bots/resources) include the necessary pages. Pages outside registered hosts and paths, pages requiring login, or pages whose content needs JavaScript execution may not be usable. Add the exact URL of a deeper page not indexed by search, then test again.

## The chat does not appear on your site

Check that the bot is published, the current origin is registered under Allowed sites → Allowed origins, and the bot ID in the embed code is correct. If your site uses CSP, also check script and iframe permissions. See [Embed instructions](/en/embed/install).

## The chat opens but cannot accept questions

Reload the page and check your browser's connection. The initial session requires Turnstile verification. If you have reached a [Question limit](/en/embed/security-and-limits), wait before trying again. Admins should also check the API key and publication status.

## Verification codes do not arrive

Check your email address and spam folder, then resend from the screen. Codes expire in 5 minutes. If you request several codes, enter the most recently received one.

## The bot still displays or answers in Japanese

The dashboard language and bot language are separate settings. Check the [Default bot language and English display content](/en/bots/customize), then save. If the embed code includes `data-lang`, it takes precedence. Empty English titles and welcome messages use the base display content. Start a new conversation after changing settings.
